Service Team Membership. Two visits a year, both systems covered.
The Service Team Membership is our maintenance plan for Sacramento area homeowners, covering both the air conditioner and the furnace. It is 18.50 dollars a month, or 222 dollars for the year. Rated 4.9 stars across 362 verified Google reviews.
What the Service Team Membership Includes
Coverage on both systems. One membership covers the air conditioner and the furnace, so you are not choosing which half of the system to look after.
20 percent off parts and labor. Applied to repair work while the membership is active.
10 percent off duct cleaning. See air duct cleaning.
5 percent off new equipment and duct work. And if you are replacing more than one system, the first goes in at regular price and each additional system takes 10 percent off.
Free in home air quality test. Useful after a smoke season, when the question is whether the system is filtering or circulating.
Guaranteed appointments. Members hold a place on the board. In late July that is the difference between today and Thursday.
Repairs fixed right or free. If a repair we made does not hold, we come back and make it right at no charge.
One year parts and labor warranty on replacements. On equipment we install for you.
Transferable. If you sell the house, the membership goes with it.
100 percent satisfaction guarantee.
Why a Maintenance Plan Earns Its Money in the Sacramento Region
Maintenance plans have a reputation problem, and some of it is deserved. The argument for one here is specific rather than general, and it comes down to two things this region does to equipment.
The first is filter loading. The U.S. Department of Energy puts the saving from keeping the filter clean at 5 to 15 percent of what the air conditioner consumes, in its guidance on keeping an air conditioner efficient and well maintained. That is a real number on a system running most of a Sacramento summer, and it is money you spend whether or not anyone changes the filter.
The second is the outdoor coil. The same guidance notes that condenser coils get very dirty where the outdoor environment is dusty or there is foliage nearby, which describes almost every property between the valley floor and the foothills. Add a wildfire smoke season that puts fine ash on everything for weeks, and the coil here loads faster than the maintenance schedule in the owner manual assumes. A coil that cannot reject heat makes the compressor work against itself, and compressors are the part you cannot afford.
So the plan is not really about the discount. It is about the visit happening twice, before cooling season and before heating season, in a climate where skipping a year costs measurable efficiency and shortens the life of the most expensive component in the system. The discounts are what makes the visit easy to say yes to.
What We Actually Check on a Membership Visit
Cooling visit. Refrigerant charge and temperature split, condenser coil condition and cleaning, evaporator coil inspection, capacitor and contactor condition, condensate drain, blower wheel and motor amps, filter, and thermostat calibration. See HVAC tune ups.
Heating visit. Ignition and flame sensor, burner condition, heat exchanger inspection, gas pressure, safety controls and limit switches, blower and static pressure, venting, filter, and thermostat operation. See heating repair.
What we tell you. What is fine, what is aging, and what needs work now, with a price before anything happens. A tune up that never finds anything is not a service, it is a receipt.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Service Team Membership
How many visits do I get?
Two a year, one ahead of cooling season and one ahead of heating season. Both systems are covered by the one membership.
Does the discount apply to a full system replacement?
Yes, at 5 percent on new equipment and duct work. If you are replacing more than one system, the first is at regular price and each additional system takes 10 percent off.
What does guaranteed appointments actually mean in a heat wave?
That members are placed before non members when the board is full. In the last week of July that is usually the difference between a same day slot and a wait.
Can I transfer it if I sell the house?
Yes. The membership transfers with the property.
Is this worth it on a system that is only three years old?
Frequently yes, for a reason people do not expect. Most manufacturer warranties expect documented annual maintenance, so the plan protects the warranty as much as the equipment. It is also when an installation error is still cheap to correct.
What if a repair you made does not hold?
We come back and make it right at no charge. That is what fixed right or free means, and it is in writing.
